Weekly Snapshot -  9/14/2021 - 9/20/2021

For a third week in negative territory, new listings were down 20.1 percent from a year ago. However, new listings of homes for sale continue to trend ahead of 2020 levels. There was a slight decline in sold listings but still outpaced 2020’s record levels. Home sales closed totaled 2,175 vs. 2,205 for the same week as 2020, down 1.4 percent.

Weekly Snapshot - 9/21/2021 - 9/27/2021

New listings in Houston MLS edged up 1.5 percent following three consecutive weeks in decline. Overall new listings trend ahead of 2020. While sold listing were down for a second week in a row, they are still ahead of 2020's records. Closed home sales this same week were slightly below 2020 at 2,125 vs. 2,147.

Weekly Snapshot - 9/28/2021 - 10/4/2021

For the week ending Oct. 4, new listings in the MLS dropped 18.4 percent following an 8.0 percent year-over-year rise a week earlier. New listings overall though are ahead of 2020. Keeping with Houston weather, the housing market is still hot but but saw a a bit of cool down in Week 39. Closed home sale were down 2.6 percent, 2,760 vs. 2,833 for Week 39.
