Open houses are a great way to get a real feel for the home you are considering purchasing. You can walk the property, inside and out; take note of possible fixes or improvements that would really put your mark on the home—make it your own.

Home Buyers Checklist for Your Home Search

When our agents begin working with a home buyer, we give them Home Buyers Checklist to take with them as we search for homes in Houston. It covers items like how many bedrooms, covered patio, number of bathrooms, types of counters, and more.

In addition to a home buyers checklist, to help narrow your home search consider these items:

• Do you know your budget? Have you pre-qualified through your financial institution? Know what you can afford and stick to it.

• Determine your desired location. Are schools important to you? Do you need to be close to major access points for commuting? Would you like to be closer to your place of worship? 

• Are community amenities important to you? Community pool, recreational area, playgrounds, walking trails, sidewalks, dog park?
