HAR Weekly Activity Snapshot - Week of 7/27/2021 - 8/2/2021

With a second straight week, new listings remained in positive territory and volume continues to trend upward. REALTORS® entered 3,269 properties into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) representing an increase of 6.2 percent. Week 30 saw another small decline in local home buying activity during the last days of summer vacations with the closing of homes totaling 2,824 versus 3,158 for the same week of 2020. HAR Weekly Activity Snapshot - Week of 8/3/2021 - 8/9/2021

New listings held to positive territory for a third consecutive week and the volume continues to track upward. 3,368 properties were entered into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) by REALTORS® compared to 3,228 in Week 31 of 2020--4.3 percent increase. Homebuying activity registered a tiny bit of a gain in Week 31 as limited inventory continued. Closed home sales were 2,345 versus 2,331 for the same week in 2020. During Week 32, new listings lost some momentum as attention turned to sending kids back to school. Generally, however, new listings are trending above year-ago levels. Homebuying volume crept up for a second straight week during Week 32 and closed home sales totaled 2,226 versus 2,139. Up 4.1 percent from 2020 year-ago volume.
